Humber’s Bachelor of Music degree program is unlike any other four-year music degree in North America. Combining studies in recording technology and entrepreneurial business strategy with performance, production, songwriting and composition in jazz, pop, R&B, Latin and world music, the Bachelor of Music program equips you with the knowledge and skills needed for success in today’s music world. 

You’ll study with teachers who represent the who’s who of Canadian music, develop your musicianship on your own instrument through private lessons and ensembles, as well as in group classes, exploring ear training, music theory, improvisation, production, history and related subjects. As Toronto is the centre of Canada’s entertainment industry, Humber attracts the top professionals in jazz, musical theatre, television, film, commercials and pop.

    Audition

    As part of

    he application process, all applicants must complete an audition and testing in theory and ear training. This audition evaluates a variety of musical competencies. In-person auditions will be held from February 3rd - 6th 2026. Please choose to complete either an online audition or attend an in-person audition. Please prepare the audition for the instrument of your choice using the requirements outlined here

    Theory and Ear Training Test

    Applicants will be tested on Music Theory and Ear Training competencies. Applicants who choose to register for in-person auditions will be tested on campus on the day of their audition. For applicants choosing the video audition, details about how to complete this test and the submission instructions are available on the Applicant Portal.
